Saying “Grace before meals” has a very valid function according to polygraph and biocommunication expert Cleve Backster, who discovered in 1966 that plants have a primary perception that reacts keenly to any distress or destruction of life.
“When you bless your food”, he says, “you are registering your intent to ingest the vegetable. I found in the testing that when there is an immediate threat to vegetation they go into the equivalence of a faint. They will flatline on the polygraph which shows they are preparing for ingestion to where there is no discomfort so that very likely was the origin of humans saying the blessing .”
Furthermore Backster found that if the plant was not consumed or harmed during this time it naturally came out of the flatline state after about 20 minutes.
For a quick summary of how Cleve Backster came to discover all this please watch this clip:
What is Primary Perception?
Backster defines Primary Perception as: The vehicle of communication, the invisible, unrecognized field that interconnects all species and life forms, whereby biocommunication can occur. It is distinct from extra sensory perception (ESP) in that it occurs before the human specialized senses of taste, touch, hearing, sight and smell. It is likely going on all the time.
Primary perception is a an idea so radical to science (but so natural to tribal cultures and anyone who truly loves and interacts with plants and animals!) that it even now, 44 years later, it is largely ignored by mainstream biology. Quantum physicists however find it very exciting as for them it demonstrates non-local communication over distances, more popularly known as spooky action at a distance.
It also seems to hold many of the properties of entanglement as the plants, bacteria or human cells being studied tend to respond to happenings to other life forms they have some connection with.
For example plants react to events happening to other living systems in their local area, whether the living thing is plant, human or animal. Human cells reacted to stresses in the human they came from no matter how far away the human donor was (in one case 300 miles away). Yogurt bacteria reacted to changes experienced by any other bacterial life-forms.
We’ve previously written a little about MellenThomas Benedict’s extensive NDE experience. During that experience Benedict received a lot of information about the shape of the world to come and Cleve Backster was one of the people highlighted to him as someone whose discoveries would eventually be seen as on a par with those of Newton or Einstein.
I believe that to be true as reading Primary Perception for me is like reading a very practical, demonstrable and easy to understand real life application of many quantum physics theories and findings. For example ( and these are my interpretations and so not necessarily ‘scientific’!)
- Entanglement – the human 300 miles away gets stressed, his/her blood cell in the test tube instantaneously spikes on the polygraph chart
- Unified field – a fresh egg drops in the boiling water, a plant spikes on the polygraph and all the other eggs nearby go into the 20 minute faint
- Spooky action at a distance – Yogurt bacteria spike as bad bacteria growing on a chicken are killed in a microwave
As I said this is my take and I’m not a quantum physicist. But I am a human being and so I am composed of all the same little cellular feeling machines as the plants and the eggs and the bacteria. Therefore I, on many levels of my being, must be having scores of entangled, non-local, unified and just downright empathic reactions to any other cellular distresses in my environment. There’s an old family saying where I come from about the power of the family blood tie – it’s: “Prick one and they all bleed.”
Well it appears that we do and the “they” are not just family group members, but all life forms in our vicinity that might be in distress.
Living in the midst of the amount of mindless and unnecessary suffering we currently live in it’s no wonder that we experience such dis-ease. How could our cells feel safe when they see how dismissive or absolutely unaware we are of the suffering of other cells.
When we eat the battery chickens because they are cheaper than organic… When we eat the factory slaughtered cow who has had to queue for hours to die rather than the local abattoir slaughtered cow who is at least afforded as little suffering as possible… When we genetically modify our already perfect crops. When we ignore the voices of our own little cellular powerhouses when they say they want more rest or energy or quality food…
When we do all that we are being mindless and naïve. Why? Because we can’t switch off from the field. It is communicating all the time, and if we want peace and calm and a happy life then it behoves us to do what we can to create that same peace in our local area life-forms. The tree huggers were not so wrong after all!
