An analysis of Nicholas Sarkozy’s chart for 2012 shows in no uncertain terms that he will fail to be returned to office. This is important because by freeing up the presidency it underlines the success of Sarkozy’s main rival, Françoise Hollande, who makes the strongest claim to become the 2012 president of the French Republic.
(See earlier article Astrological Look at the French Presidential Election)
Nicolas Sarkozy: 28 Jan 1955; Paris; 22:00 hrs; Asc Virgo 26.07
French Presidential Election 22 April 2012
Progressed Chart 2012: Asc Scorpio 6.51
Progressed (for 22 April 2012) Part of Kings/Part of Spirit (Virgo 26.45) conjuncts the radix Asc (Virgo 26.07). This represents the significance of his presidency to Nicolas Sarkozy at this important time of an election.
Progressed Asc (Scorpio 6.51) is leaving the term of Mars and entering the term of Jupiter. Since Jupiter in the radix is lord 7 (the enemy) this is most unfortunate for Sarkozy in an election period because it shows him under the power of his rival, Françoise Hollande. This message is underlined by progressed MC (Leo 18.25) leaving the term of Venus and entering the term of Jupiter ie the presidency (MC) will come into the hands of Sarkozy’s rival, M Hollande (Jupiter).
Progressed Asc opposes radix Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Taurus 5.21). This highlighting of the Part of Resignation and Dismissal at this crucial period is most unfortunate for Sarkozy’s bid to be re-elected president. Moreover, since the progressed Sun (Aries 5.25) is leaving the term of Jupiter and entering the term of Venus this transition of terms by the Sun could very well describe Sarkozy’s battle with Hollande (Jupiter) resulting in him failing to be returned to presidential office (Venus, lord of the Part of Resignation and Dismissal). The significance of this change of term is emphasised by progressed Sun conjunct by antiscion radix Asc (Virgo 26.07). It is also, of course, an intense highlighting of Sarkozy – essence (Sun) on self (Asc) – because of the promotion of self for office. The progressed Sun’s change of term is further emphasised by the progressed Sun square the radix nodal axis (Capricorn/Cancer 5.03). Once again it highlights Sarkozy which is entirely appropriate for one seeking to be president.
Progressed MC (Leo 18) squares the opposition of progressed Mars (Taurus 19) and radix/progressed Saturn (Scorpio 20). If Mars is read as malefic lord 8, and radix lord 5, Saturn is read as turned lord 8 (8th from the 10th) then this progressed square and opposition might well be highlighting the end of Sarkozy’s presidency. And since the light of the radix, the Moon represents the native, the proximity of the progressed Moon to progressed Mars, underlines the distress of this configuration for Sarkozy.
The most important points in the progressed chart are the change of terms which highlight Sarkozy critically in the grip of his rival Hollande and indeed the presidency given to Hollande. Sarkozy will not be returned to office.
Solar Return 2012; Asc Leo 13.56
The Solar Return (Aquarius 8.10) has just set. This is especially important because the Sun is lord 1 so it clearly describes Sarkozy’s presidential light going out. He will not be re-elected.
Solar Return Mercury (Aquarius 1.49) has just entered combustion. If Mercury takes its meaning from the radix where it is lord 1 and 10 this does not bode well for Sarkozy’s presidential re-election bid because it describes Sarkozy the president (lord 1/10) as finished.
Solar Return Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Scorpio 23.31) opposes Solar Return (Aquarius 8.10) by antiscion. Essentially Sarkozy (Sun as self in Solar Return and lord 1) is afflicted by ‘dismissal’. This is a most unfortunate testimony to his re-election bid.
Solar Return lord 10, Mars (Virgo 22.28) has just turned retrograde. This simply shows president Sarkozy’s (lord 10) wish to return (retrograde) to presidential office. It conjuncts the radix Moon (Aries 7.51) by antiscion. As light of the time the radix Moon represents Sarkozy; so the conjunction simply highlights Sarkozy wanting to return to office.
When the arc of the radix Part of Kings (Cancer 26.26) is cast into the Solar Return using the same degree of arc in the radix it falls at Gemini 14.15 which conjuncts Solar Return South Node (Gemini 12.31). This is not a favourable highlight for his bid for presidential re-election.
When the arc of the radix Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Taurus 5.21) is cast into the Solar Return using the same degree of arc in the radix it falls at Pisces 23.10 which opposes Solar Return Mars (Virgo 22.57). This highlighting of Dismissal is also not favourable for his bid for presidential re-election. Rather than just highlighting, the opposition might also mark the dismissal as uncomfortable (which, of course, it is).
The natal arc of the radix Part of Fortune falls in the Solar Return at Libra 13.43 which opposes the Solar Return Moon (Aries 11.26) which as light of the time represents Sarkozy. This opposition then also highlights him unfavourably in this important year of an election. Moreover, because the Part of Fortune is a lunar part the configuration describes a Moon Moon opposition which is not favourable.
Solar Return peregrine Jupiter (Taurus 2.16) opposes radix lord 1, Mercury (Aquarius 26.36) by antiscion. This is just an unfavourable highlighting (opposition and peregrine) of Sarkozy (radix lord 1) so another (minor) nail in his presidential coffin.
Solar Return MC/IC axis (Aries/Libra 28.23) falls by antiscion on the radix 12th/6th cusp axis (Virgo/Pisces 1.15). The 12th and the 6th are malefic houses so as this casts a shadow over the year of his re-election bid it does not bode well for his re-election prospects.
The crucial factor in the Solar Return is the Setting Sun, depriving Sarkozy of all his light which in a presidential election year is a most damning testimony. This loss of the presidency is supported by the significant highlighting of the Part of Resignation and Dismissal, as well as the unfavourable emphasis on the Part of Kings.
Lunar Return 19 April 2012; Asc Gemini 24.08
Exalted Lunar Return Sun (Aries 29.38) is about to lose all its dignity. Even in a Lunar Return the Sun still carries a sense of the self which is all the more true in this case because the Sun is Solar Return lord 1. It reflects Sarkozy undergoing dramatic change. And because this is the lunar return that presides over Sarkozy’s bid for re-election the fall must describe him falling from his lofty presidential office. Sarkozy therefore will not be re-elected. Also Lunar Return Sun conjuncts by antiscion the radix malefic 12th cusp of self-undoing (Virgo 1.15). This is just a very general indicator of misfortune but nevertheless underlines his failure to be re-elected president.
This reading of the Sun describing Sarkozy fall from lofty office is supported by Lunar Return Asc/Desc axis (Gemini/Sagittarius 24.08) falling on the antiscial conjunction of the radix MC/IC axis (Gemini/Sagittarius 25.07) and the South/North Node axis (Cancer/Capricorn 5.03). Because it is specifically the Lunar Return Asc (Sarkozy) falling on the radix MC (office) conjunct the South Node (restriction) the message is clear that Sarkozy will undergo a restrictive experience in office. And since this is the crucial month of a presidential election it is a good description of him failing to be re-elected to presidential office.
Malefic fixed star Al Hecka (Gemini 24.40) on the tip of the bull’s horn conjuncts the Asc (Gemini 24.08). Sarkozy will suffer the sever distress of falling from office (gored by the bull).
Lunar Return Venus conjuncts by antiscion Lunar Return Part of Kings (Cancer 15.55). If Venus is read as lord of the Lunar Return Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Libra 13.44) it clearly highlights that Sarkozy’s time in office has ended. He will not be re-elected president.
When the arc of the radix Part of Kings (Cancer 26.26) is cast into the Lunar Return using the same degree of arc in the radix it falls at Libra 24.27 which conjuncts Lunar Return Saturn (Libra 25.54) which perfects an antiscial opposition with Lunar Return Mars (Virgo 3.50). This describes Sarkozy’s presidential position (lord 10, Saturn/Part of Kings) assaulted by the hardships of the world (lord 6, Mars) which frustrates his re-election bid.
When the arc of the radix Part of Kings (Cancer 26.26) is cast into the Lunar Return using the same degree of arc in the radix it falls at Libra 24.27 which conjuncts Lunar Return Saturn (Libra 25.54). This is not a favourable highlight for his bid for presidential re-election.
Lunar Return 5th cusp (Virgo 22.15) which is the turned 8th cusp (8th from the 10th cusp) falls on the antiscion of the radix Moon Mars conjunction. As light of the time the Moon represents the native, Sarkozy and Mars possibly is probably malefic lord 8. Accordingly the Lunar Return turned 8th cusp highlights Sarkozy in terms of the difficulty of not being returned to office.
Lunar Return 12th cusp (Taurus 7.29) conjuncts the radix Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Taurus 5.21). Neither of these factor has light but it could still be hinting at his failure to be re-elected.
Lunar Return South Node (Gemini 5.31) conjuncts by antiscion radix lord 7, Jupiter (Cancer 23.11). Very likely this describes Mme Bruni (lord 7, spouse) undergoing the restrictive experiencing of losing her status as presidential wife.
The Lunar Return Sun (Aries 29.38) falls on the Solar Return MC. This simply highlights that Sarkozy’s fall (Sun about to loose all its dignity) relates to presidential office (MC). I
Similarily the antiscion of the Lunar Return Part of Kings (Cancer 15.55) falls on the Solar Return South Node (Gemini 12.30). Essentially then it shows Sarkozy’s kingship (presidency) in dire straits.
Lunar Return nodal axis (Sagittarius/Gemini 5.31) falls on the Solar Return 5th /11th cusp axis (Sagittarius/Gemini 7.08) highlighting office ending (Solar Return 5th is 8th from the 10th).
The most important testimony to Sarkozy failing to be returned to office is the Lunar Return Sun huge drop in dignity. There is significant supporting testimony to this from the role of the involvement of the Part of Resignation and Dismissal and the debilitating treatment of the Part of Kings as well as from the factors such as the fixed star Al Hecka. Indeed from the Lunar Return alone there is no doubt that Sarkozy will fail to be re-elected to office.
Solar Lunar Return 19 April 2012; Asc Virgo 16.44
Because the Solar Return Moon is only a couple of degrees distant from its radix placement the Solar Lunar Return and the Lunar Return charts for the election are very close. This, however, is accidental and does not invalidate the Solar Lunar Return chart providing independent testimony. Thus the Sun (Aries 29.56) about to loose all its dignity is another powerful testimony to Sarkozy’s impending fall from office. Note also Solar Lunar Return Sun is afflicted in the malefic 8th underlining the misfortune with which Sarkozy is beset in seeking re-election.
Solar Lunar Return MC/IC axis (Gemini/Sagittarius 13.11) falls on the Solar Return South/North Node axis (Gemini/Sagittarius 12.30) indicating a significant turning point. And significantly it is the MC that is brought to bear on the restrictive South Node casting a blight on his re-election prospects. Note Solar Lunar Return Venus (Gemini 13.17), lord of the Solar Lunar Return Part of Kings (Libra 5.13) is also afflicted by the South Node.
Finding the Solar Lunar Return itself (Aries 11.27) just inside the 8th cusp does not help his re-election prospects. So just by glancing at this Solar Lunar Return chart and finding both the Sun and the Moon in the 8th does not look good for his re-election prospects.
The Progressed, Solar Return, Lunar Return and Solar Lunar Return charts all testify to Sarkozy losing the 2012 presidential election. The progressed chart trumpets this with significant significators changing term that show Hollande not only having power over Sarkozy in the critical period of the election but also of Hollande coming to presidential office. The Solar return backs this up with the powerful testimony of the setting Sun as well as a host of other testimonies, the most significant of which is the highlighting of the Part of Resignation and Dismissal and the debilitating emphasis on the Part of Kings. And perhaps of all the charts the Sun about to lose all its powerful dignity in the Lunar and Solar Lunar Returns is the strongest and most significant testimony to Sarkozy’s failure to be re-elected French president 2012.
